Professor Linda Meyer is an accomplished higher education executive, academic and governance specialist with more than 30 years of leadership experience across South Africa’s public and private higher education sectors, government, regulatory bodies and international structures.

She currently serves as Managing Director and Principal within The Independent Institute of Education, providing strategic and academic leadership to Rosebank International – South Africa, the Waterfall School of Business and Capsicum Culinary Studio. She is also President of Rosebank International University College in Ghana and a Visiting Professor at Nelson Mandela University.

Professor Meyer holds several influential governance and quality-assurance appointments. She is a Board and Exco Member of the South African Qualifications Authority. She is also a member of the Higher Education Quality Committee and the Accreditation Committee of the Council on Higher Education, Vice-Chairperson of Higher Health UK, and a member of the Bridget Mabandla Justice College Advisory Council.

Her extensive academic and executive portfolio includes institutional strategy, academic governance, programme accreditation, quality assurance, internationalisation, transformation, student success, enterprise risk management and organisational sustainability. She previously served as Director of Operations and Sector Support at Universities South Africa and has held senior leadership positions in higher education, government and statutory institutions.

Professor Meyer holds a PhD in the Management of Technology and Innovation (SA), a Doctor of Business Administration (USA) and an MBA (UK), among other qualifications. She is a published scholar, postgraduate supervisor and international speaker whose research interests include higher education governance, private higher education, student success, institutional autonomy, transformation and innovation. Her work is grounded in a commitment to academic excellence, social justice and the transformative potential of higher education.

Recently recognised by Humans of Globe and CIO Minds at the Global Leadership and Excellence Awards 2026, she continues to distinguish herself as a leading voice in higher education and business leadership. She was also recognised among Southern Africa’s Top 300 business leaders by the Golden Key International Honour Society. Through her work, she champions the transformative role of higher education in driving economic growth, advancing social justice and strengthening Africa’s global competitiveness.
