Mohau Capital is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2027 academic year.

Bursaries will be awarded to Black students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds, for studies within the following fields:

• Accounting Science
• Applied Mathematics
• Investment Banking or related finance qualification

As part of its commitment to education and skills development, Mohau Capital is offering bursary funding to academically strong students who meet the programme’s eligibility requirements. The company is seeking to identify talented students who have demonstrated academic potential and are pursuing studies in fields that contribute to South Africa’s economic development and future skills needs.

The bursary aims to ease the financial burden of tertiary education for deserving students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds, while supporting the development of skilled professionals who can contribute meaningfully to the country’s future.

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

• You must be a South African citizen
• You must be Black (male or female)
• You must be from a previously disadvantaged background
• You must be studying towards a qualification, within one of the fields of study listed above
• You must be enrolled in your 2nd or higher year of study
• You must have a strong academic record
• You must have achieved a minimum “B” average (70% or above)
• You must demonstrate commitment to academic excellence
• You must have leadership potential
• You must have a desire to contribute positively to South Africa’s economic development

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your online application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):

Student loan information

• ID document/passport
• Proof of registration
• Academic record, including latest results
• Motivational Letter stating why you are applying for the scholarship and why you should be selected
• Proof of residence
• Parents/ guardians proof of household income (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, proof of social grant or pension if applicable)
• Parents/ guardians/ next of kin ID document/ passport
• Proof of any other study funding you are receiving, if applicable
