The purpose of this qualification is threefold: to promote access to higher education, to qualify learners for careers in the business/ economics field and to provide a platform for further business management or economics studies.

To be awarded this qualification, a minimum final year mark of 50% for each module must be achieved.

· Free software is available to all registered IIE Rosebank College students. The software includes but is not limited to MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Access and MS Outlook, which come with the Office 365 bundle. Students can access the software using their RCCONNECT.edu.za email address.
THE PATH TO BECOMING A CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT
1. Complete a 3-year SAICA accredited accounting degree.
2. Complete a 1-year SAICA accredited Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting.
3. At the beginning of the training contract with an accredited training provider (usually an audit firm).
4. At the beginning of the training contract, the first of the SAICA professional exams is written, the Initial Test of Competence (ITC).
5. At the end of the 2nd year of the training contract, the second of the SAICA professional exams is written, the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).
